This first blog is basically to explain the idea behind this blog. First and foremost, I'd like to say that this isn't a book club. There will be no deadlines, no meetings, and no guilt trips. We're just four really cool people that are all reading the same book and talking/blogging about it. And incidentally, I want you all to know that I think this is a very select, cool, group. You are the only people I have told about this, and so far our acceptance rate is one hundred percent. If anyone does want to ad anyone, I think it should be considered as a committee, since we now have a committee.
So I'd like to start out with three observations from the foreword by Dave Eggars, assuming we all have the same edition. First, I think it's cool that the foreword is written by Dave Eggars, as "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genuis" is one of, if not my number one, favorite books of all time. Second, I liked the comparison to Sufjan Stevens, since I happen to know that all of us like Sufjan. Thirdly, I thought it was also very interesting that Dave said most people read it when they're around twenty five and I would say that we're all around twenty five.
So, that being said, let's read....and blog....
